Pagadian City, Philippines — Security personnel of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) stationed at Pagadian Airport successfully secured a wild eagle that was spotted within the airport’s area of responsibility, demonstrating the agency’s proactive approach to wildlife hazard management.

According to CAAP, the eagle was safely captured without incident and was promptly turned over to the Bureau of Animal Industry for proper care and evaluation.

Airport operations remained normal throughout the incident, with no reported delays or damage. Officials emphasized that the swift action highlights CAAP’s commitment to both aviation safety and wildlife protection.

“This is part of our ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of our flight operations while respecting and preserving wildlife in the area,” CAAP said in a statement. The agency regularly conducts field inspections and implements immediate response protocols for wildlife sightings on airport grounds.

Wildlife hazards, particularly bird strikes, pose serious risks to aircraft safety. By maintaining vigilant monitoring and fast response systems, CAAP ensures that local airports like Pagadian remain safe and efficient for travelers.

The agency expressed appreciation for the coordination with the Bureau of Animal Industry, and reaffirmed its dedication to upholding international aviation safety standards while promoting environmental responsibility.
