Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay - Authorities arrested a 19-year-old male during a successful entrapment operation for allegedly conducting illegal dental practice without a license, in violation of Republic Act No. 9484, also known as the Philippine Dental Act of 2007, and the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 (RA 10175).

The operation was carried out around 2:00 PM in the municipality of Ipil and led by the Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Cyber Response Team (PCRT), Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 9 (RACU 9), and Ipil Municipal Police Station.

The suspect, a single male and a resident of Barangay Magdaup, Ipil, was caught in the act of performing dental procedures without the necessary professional license.

Confiscated from the suspect were various dental tools and equipment, including a cheek retractor, micro motor, ultrasonic scalers, orthodontic brackets, ligatures, dental explorer, NiTi archwires, micro-shear flush cutter, magnifying lamp, dental bed, and a black Infinix smartphone.

Authorities confirmed that the suspect was informed of his legal rights and was subsequently brought to the custody of the Zamboanga Sibugay PCRT, along with the seized items, for proper legal proceedings.

The arrest serves as a stern warning to individuals engaging in unauthorized medical and dental practices, especially those using online platforms to promote illegal services. Law enforcement agencies reiterated their commitment to protecting public health and safety.

The operation's success was credited to the collaborative efforts of the ZSBPPO Public Information Office, ZSBGY PCRT, RACU 9, and Ipil MPS.
