Shabu Seized, High-Value Target Arrested in Zamboanga del Sur

A newly identified high-value drug personality was arrested in a successful anti-illegal drug operation conducted in Barangay Campo IV early morning Tuesday, July 15, 2025.

The suspect, known by the alias “Ricboy,” a 40-year-old resident of Baroy, Lanao del Norte, was apprehended during a buy-bust operation launched at around 6:15 a.m. in Purok Mangga, Campo IV. The operation was a result of intensified intelligence and surveillance activities, carried out by joint operatives from the Zamboanga del Sur Police Drug Enforcement Unit (ZSPDEU), Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Intelligence Unit (ZSPIU), 902nd Regional Mobile Force Battalion 9 (RMFB9), 1st ZSP Mobile Force Company (ZSPMFC), and Ramon Magsaysay Municipal Police Station, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 9 (PDEA-9).

Seized from the suspect were one extra-large sachet containing 19 smaller sachets comprised of three medium and sixteen large sachets of suspected shabu. Authorities also recovered one genuine ₱1,000 bill used as marked money, 49 pieces of boodle money, various drug paraphernalia, and a Yamaha Sniper 155cc motorcycle allegedly used in drug transactions.

All recovered drug evidence has been submitted to the Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Forensic Unit at Camp Abelon, Pagadian City, for laboratory examination.

The suspect is currently detained at the Ramon Magsaysay Municipal Police Station and will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to pursuing high-value targets and dismantling illegal drug networks operating in the region.
