Fetus Found Underneath Rock in Guadalupe, Cebu City

CEBU CITY — A decomposing fetus was discovered partially crushed beneath a large rock at a vacant lot in Good Shepherd, Barangay Guadalupe, around 3:00 PM on Thursday, July 17, 2025.

According to initial reports, a group of friends was hanging out in the area when they noticed a foul odor and a swarm of flies near a suspicious-looking rock. Driven by curiosity, they lifted the rock and were shocked to find what appeared to be a lifeless fetus in an advanced state of decomposition.

Authorities were immediately notified of the discovery. Scene investigators from the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) and representatives from the City Health Department responded to the area to conduct a thorough investigation.

The fetus has been turned over to authorities for proper handling and examination. Police are now working to identify those responsible and determine whether foul play was involved.
