Malaybalay City, Bukidnon — Authorities are still working to identify the burned remains of a man found early Tuesday morning, July 22, in Purok 4B, Barangay Aglayan, Malaybalay City.

According to the initial investigation by the local police, they received a call around 6:00 a.m. reporting a man allegedly engulfed in flames in the area.

Responding officers arrived to find the victim lifeless, with a significant portion of his body severely burned.

Police also recovered a plastic bottle believed to have contained gasoline and an Android cellphone a few meters away from the charred remains—items that may be crucial in determining the circumstances of the incident.

Investigators are still verifying whether the victim was intentionally set on fire or may have set himself ablaze. The scene remains under investigation as authorities seek leads to uncover the truth behind the gruesome discovery.
