The Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Regional Office IX has officially inaugurated its first dedicated building in Mindanao, marking a significant milestone in the agency’s efforts to expand its services and strengthen government communication in the region.

The newly constructed four-story facility, located on a donated lot within the Regional Government Center, is the third dedicated PIA building in the country. Built with a budget of ₱26.8 million, the structure is envisioned to serve as a hub for information dissemination, media engagement, and public awareness campaigns across the Zamboanga Peninsula.

The building features a spacious conference hall for official meetings, seminars, and workshops; a modern media hub to support both digital and traditional information platforms; and a fully equipped studio. The studio will host “Kapihan” press conferences, providing a platform for dialogue between government agencies, the media, and the public.

PIA officials said the facility reflects the agency’s commitment to promoting transparency, accessibility, and timely delivery of accurate information to communities.

“This building is more than just an office  it is a center for collaboration, innovation, and service to the people,” a PIA representative said during the inauguration.

With its strategic location and modern amenities, the new PIA Regional Office IX is expected to enhance the agency’s capacity to deliver effective public information services not only in Zamboanga Peninsula but also to nearby provinces in Mindanao.
