DOH and DILG Join Forces to Strengthen Anti-Dengue Measures

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has called on local government units (LGUs) to intensify their efforts against dengue, in response to the Department of Health’s (DOH) call for stronger action to address the mosquito-borne disease.

The directive comes in the wake of recent typhoons and monsoon rains, which have left many communities at risk of dengue and other illnesses.

As part of its guidance, the DILG urged LGUs to conduct regular clean-up drives to eliminate mosquito breeding sites, remove stagnant water, and ensure the proper maintenance of canals and drainage systems.

Both the DOH and DILG also encouraged the public, especially families, to maintain clean surroundings and to seek immediate medical consultation if dengue symptoms arise.
