The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) has launched an investigation into the violent protest that erupted at the Batasan Complex yesterday.

According to a QCPD report, eight police officers sustained injuries while performing their duties during the incident. Authorities said legal action will be pursued to hold those responsible accountable.

The protest, joined by an estimated 300 demonstrators, was staged in front of the House of Representatives without a rally permit. Police said the gathering disrupted traffic flow and inconvenienced motorists in the area.

To maintain peace and order, QCPD deployed personnel to manage the situation. However, the demonstration turned unruly, leading to a scuffle that left several officers hurt.
