Corruption: The Real Enemy of the Filipino People

Corruption: The Real Enemy of the Filipino People

The recent revelations from couple Sarah and Curlee Discaya once again exposed how some congressmen and officials allegedly demanded kickbacks from government projects. Infrastructure funds meant to build roads, bridges, and services for the people are being treated as personal wallets by the very leaders we elected.

This is not an isolated issue. For decades, corruption has haunted our country. Billions of pesos are lost yearly to shady deals, while ordinary Filipinos are left with substandard projects, unfinished infrastructures, and broken promises.

Corruption is the cancer that continues to eat away at the Philippines. Every peso stolen is a peso denied to hospitals, schools, farmers, workers, and most especially, our youth.

Imagine the Philippines if this cycle of corruption will never end will there be any future for the youth? Or will we continue to live in poverty, with a broken health system, and a government that only serves itself?

Makialam tayo dahil kinabukasan ng susunod na henerasyon ang nakasalalay. If we continue to stay silent, nothing will change. Corruption thrives not just because of greedy officials but also because of our tolerance and silence.

To all Filipinos: let us open our eyes! Let us not be foolish to vote again for these officials who have betrayed our trust. They do not deserve another chance to rob us of our future.

It is time to demand accountability, transparency, and integrity. The Discaya exposé should not be forgotten after a week of headlines. Instead, it must be the spark that ignites real change.

If we truly love our country, we must stand and say together: Tama na ang korapsyon.
