The request comes amid growing calls to shift portions of government funding from infrastructure projects such as flood control, and instead prioritize investments in the education sector.

  • ₱48.89 billion for infrastructure projects such as classrooms and school facilities
  • ₱20.17 billion for computerization and digital learning tools
  • ₱17.05 billion for the School-Based Feeding Program
  • ₱15.21 billion for salaries and benefits of teaching and non-teaching staff
  • ₱14.11 billion for disaster response programs in schools
  • ₱10.24 billion for the Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning (ARAL) Program
  • ₱3.36 billion for General Administration and Support
  • ₱2.41 billion for other operational expenses
  • ₱1.92 billion for health-related initiatives
  • ₱800 million for school support services
  • ₱379.34 million for inclusive education programs

Senate Finance Committee Chairman Sherwin Gatchalian assured that education will remain one of the top priorities in the national budget deliberations.
