Marcos Launches Student Beep Cards with 50% Fare Discount

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on September 20, 2025, launched the new student Beep cards at LRT-2 Legarda Station in Manila, granting a 50 percent fare discount on LRT-1, LRT-2, and MRT-3 rides.

The initiative, led in partnership with the DOTr and LRTA, features a faster registration process and on-the-spot card printing, cutting commuter wait times by up to 20 minutes. Marcos said the program aims to ease the financial burden of students and is part of ongoing efforts to modernize public transport for all passengers, including seniors and PWDs.

Student Beep cards are valid for one year and may be renewed each school year.
