President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. vowed to hold accountable those behind irregularities in flood control projects, saying his administration will not tolerate corruption that hinders national progress.

Marcos said he raised the issue in his recent State of the Nation Address to ensure it receives national attention and concrete action.

“This could not go on. The system has become deeply entrenched,” he said, emphasizing that he will continue to expose and address ghost and substandard projects.

The President stressed he refuses to be part of the complacency that has plagued past administrations. “I will not accept that nothing can be done. We must move the country forward,” he said.
