Inter-Agency Conference Focuses on 2025 Election Safety and Coordination

In preparation for the upcoming 2025 National and Local Elections (NLE) and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Parliamentary Elections (BARMM PE), the Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office (ZSPPO) reaffirmed its commitment to secure and credible elections by actively participating in the 4th Regional Joint Security Control Center (RJSCC) Coordination Conference.

Police Colonel Bonifacio B. Arañas Jr., Provincial Director of ZSPPO, represented the provincial police force during the conference held at Camp Kuta Major Sang-an in Upper Pulacan, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur.

The high-level meeting brought together key stakeholders from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), Commission on Elections (COMELEC), and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) to strengthen inter-agency collaboration and refine security measures for the upcoming polls.

Among the top officials in attendance were PBGEN Roel C. Rodolfo (PRO9), MGEN Yegor Rey P. Barroquillo (1st Infantry Division), MGEN Leonardo I. Peña (Joint Task Force Orion), Commodore Marco Antonio P. Gines (PCG), and Atty. Renault C. Macarambon (COMELEC Region IX).

Discussions centered on strategic election security planning, threat assessments, and the implementation of preventive measures to ensure orderly and credible elections. Emphasis was placed on proactive coordination, intelligence sharing, and integrated operations across agencies.

The event underscored the vital role of unified efforts in protecting the sanctity of the electoral process. All participating agencies reaffirmed their shared responsibility to uphold democratic values and reinforce public trust in the elections.

As the 2025 elections approach, the ZSPPO and its partner agencies remain steadfast in their mission to provide a safe and secure environment for every Filipino voter.
